Happy Holidays!

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

So, it’s been a while. What’s been going on here? Not too much… I’ve been busy with my new store, and Tina’s been busy on her rotations. We’ve been having amazing weather… it’s only been cold for a couple of days, and we’ve had stretches of 60-70 degree weather! Seattle, on the other hand, seems to be having quite a winter. And it’s not even winter yet! The bad news is that it doesn’t seem like Christmas at all, despite our lit and decorated Chrsitmas tree. I still haven’t done any Christmas shopping :( But I have been riding my bike to work a lot more, as well as enjoying the opportunity to wear flip-flops well into December. Other than that, not much has been going on. Tina and I will be coming home from the 25th to the 2nd, and we hope to see and hang out with everyone! We won’t be doing our annual New Year’s Eve party this year though, so we have to figure out what we’re going to do instead. Anyhoo, Happy Holidays!

May 18, 2006 Invisable

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

So AdamGraunke.com no longer shows up on google while searching for my name… even more depressing is that I Love Adam Graunke doesn’t come up either! Am I destined to be forgotten? To be lost in the giant whirlpool of electrons and photons that is the internet? Not if I have anything to say about it! Everyone, point your link-makers and page-viewers towards Adam Graunke and the one true website AdamGraunke.com. Fans and groupies should check out the I Love Adam Graunke page.

On the radio!

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005

So tomorrow 101FM will be doing a live remote broadcast from our store from 9-10AM, EST! Pretty crazy… I have no idea what to expect, other than it’s going to be pretty hectic. We’re the event listed on Dec. 7th here. Tune in if you can– we’re hoping to sing Happy Birthday to one of our shift supervisors on-air. They’re coming to promote this great but little known program we’re doing: every Wednesday Starbucks is donating 10¢ for each gingerbread latte purchased to the Starlight Starbright Foundation.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday, December 2nd, 2005

Well, it’s a little late, but happy Thanksgiving! Tina and I had an amazing week-long feast, and we were lucky enough to be joined by Reena and her boyfriend Chris. We attempted a Thanksgiving dinner for the four of us on Wednesday, but unfortunately my first turkey ever took forever to cook. We ended up having a meal of side dishes at 5pm, and a dinner of turkey at 11pm. Everything turned out quite tasty, but just didn’t turn out on time. I even made an amazing chocolate pecan pie, and Chris came through with a pumpkin apple butter pie! On Thursday we went over to our friend Jen’s, who prepared an outrageous feast. We spent the night eating, drinking, and bean farming. Yes, you read that right: bean farming. We played a game called Bohnanza that Tina and I first played back in Jackson, Wyoming. It’s a card game where each player is a bean farmer, and it’s all about planning, trading, and strategy… it’s so much fun!

Other than that, we haven’t been up to much. We did just get tickets home (thanks mom!) which means that the annual New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at The Cabin is on! I’ll be sending out an Evite tomorrow or Sunday with the details, but rest assured that this year’s party will continue, if not surpass, the great tradition we have established. So spread the word! Everyone is invited to the biggest, the best, the greatest New Year’s Eve party this side of Belfair!!! Seriously, if you are going to be in Seattle on 12/31, email me and I’ll send you the info. It’s gonna ROCK! :)

Long time…

Tuesday, October 18th, 2005

So it’s been a while. I logged in to my site earlier this evening to find that I have over 4,000 comments– all spam. So I’ll be turning off comments for a while, til I can get that cleaned up. Not much has been going on around here. Work has been good. Busy, but good. I am actually applying to be a classroom facilitator tomorrow– if I’m accepted I’ll teach classes to new partners and newly promoted shift supervisors. I have to give a presentation tomorrow, and then I’ll find out if I’m in! Tina’s doing well– she survived her first major round of exams for the year, took a day off, and is already diving right back into things. But the real reason I wanted to post today was that I found that Google Maps covers Japan! I’m not sure how long they’ve had it (I think a while), but here is a map of my old neighborhood. (Satellite map– I lived near the big green park in the middle). One of the cool things, though: those tiny icons are convenience stores! You can see three Circle K’s in this map, all of which I use to frequent. Speaking of old neighborhoods, the green area in the middle of this map, with the lake in the middle, is my old Oxford stomping grounds. This is fun– I might update later with maps of other places I’ve called home. Anyhoo, ciao for now!

David’s here!

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

So, David arrived yesterday, sans baggage. His checked bag was eventually delivered to the apartment at 6:00AM, about 12 hours after his flight arrived. Tina and Reena took off to New York this evening, even after we thought all the bus tickets sold out. We got them there about two minutes before the bus left, but they made it.
